Ab Ki Baar Modi Sarkaar
Now that the biggest democratic show in the world is drawing closer, political parties are running their campaigns on the highest decibel. The shrillest voice is that of the BJP, with their slogan Ab Ki Baar Modi Sarkar being hard to miss (seriously, Modi’s hubris makes the Gandhis look downright humble).
Social media has found the best way to deal with the noise – by taking the slogan with a heavy pinch of humour. Numerous memes are doing the round, and if you find yourself with a few idle moments, try creating one of your own!

Learn Something New This April
“April is the cruellest month”, T.S. Eliot famously declared, and we agree. The sudden surge in mercury makes us want to fling ourselves in front of a SUV – anything to escape the sudden itchy heat. But then we take a deep breath and tell ourselves that we need to stop thinking so much about the terrible weather.
So if you are looking for a distraction to deal with April’s cruelties, or simply looking to learn something new, here are two fun courses starting soon on Coursera:
1. If learning a musical instrument has always been on your bucket list, we suggest Introduction to Guitar:
For students who have long thought about picking up the acoustic or electric guitar, this course will provide an easy-access foundation that will get you playing.
2. For the geeks and philosophers, how about Introduction to Mathematical Philosophy, in which you will
Learn how to apply mathematical methods to philosophical problems and questions.
April Fool Pranks
What’s 1 April without some pranks? From Google Maps’ search for a Pokeman Master to Rosetta Stone teaching you to learn Klingon, Domino’s letting you eat your pizza and it’s box too (they definitely didn’t try it in India – they would have run out of boxes) and The Mirror carrying a piece by reporter “Paolo Frils”, companies took the business of humour very seriously. Meanwhile, Reddit launched Headdit, a new navigational experience using only your facial muscles.
Using revolutionary hand equivalent action detection, headdit allows you to upnod, frownvote and navigate your way around reddit. There is also cat mode. So sit back, relax and enjoy headdit.
And for art buffs, Apartment Therapy declared Museum of Modern Art was launching a pregnancy tracker app that lets you measure the size of your baby against the size of works in its collection.
